Answer each question honestly, choosing the response that best reflects your typical characteristics.

Physical:

  4. My appetite is: a) Variable b) Strong c) Slow

  5. My digestion is: a) Variable b) Strong c) Slow

  6. My movement and speech are: a) Quick b) Medium c) Slow

  7. My Nails tend to be: a) Brittle and dry b) Soft and flexible c) Thick and strong.

  8. My hair is usually: a) Dry and sparse b) Fine and oily c) Thick and lustrous.

  9. My tolerance to cold weather is: a) Low b) Moderate c) High.

  10. My typical bowel movements are: a) Irregular, often dry b) Regular, loose c) Regular, heavy.

Mental/Emotional:

  1. My mind is often: a) Restless b) Focused c) Calm

  2. I tend to be: a) Anxious b) Irritable c) Patient

  3. My sleep is: a) Light/Interrupted b) Sound c) Deep/Prolonged

  4. I am generally: a) Enthusiastic b) Assertive c) Compassionate

  5. My memory is typically: a) Quick to forget b) Sharp and precise c) Slow but lasting.

  6. When stressed, I tend to: a) Worry and become fearful b) Become angry and frustrated c) Become withdrawn and lethargic.

  7. My speech pattern is typically: a) Fast and changing b) Sharp and direct c) Slow and methodical.

  8. I tend to be more drawn to: a) Creativity and change b) Achievement and competition c) Stability and routine.

  9. My emotional responses are typically: a) Variable and quick b) Intense and direct c) Steady and slow.

  10. My overall energy level is: a) Variable and sporadic b) Consistent and moderate c) Consistently stable.

Scoring:

  • Count the number of "a" responses (Vata).

  • Count the number of "b" responses (Pitta).

  • Count the number of "c" responses (Kapha).

The Dosha with the highest count is likely your dominant Dosha. If two Doshas have a similar count, you have a dual-Dosha Prakriti. If all the counts are similar, you may have a tridoshic Prakriti.

Important Considerations:

  • This questionnaire is a general guide. For a more accurate assessment, consult with an Ayurvedic practitioner.

  • Most people have a combination of two dominant Doshas.

  • Your Prakriti is your inherent constitution, but your current state of imbalance (Vikriti) may differ.

  • It's essential to address imbalances and support your Prakriti for optimal health.
